Litigation

Since its inception, Mcmillan & Shureen has been engaged in defense litigation. We provide general liability defense services to insurance companies, risk management services to insurance companies, risk management services, municipalities, corporations, employment practices, bodily injury and/or property damage liability. In addition to defending cases involving claims of vehicular negligence, premises liability, civil assault, defamation, insurance fraud, and re-insurance matters, our clients frequently ask us to render opinions concerning insurance coverage, policy interpretation, and liability exposure.

Individual units have been established to defend cases requiring specialized technical knowledge and expertise. These units manage litigation involving claims of product defects; maritime losses; professional liability (accountants, architects, engineers, attorneys, directors and officers, brokers, and agents); claims against municipalities; and appeals. Our "bad faith" unit acts as national counsel to several major insurance companies.

From assignment through trial, our attorneys bring the expertise and experience required to provide the best possible defense. Our litigation/trial unit approach allows us to efficiently and effectively work with a client employing a familiar pattern of reporting and litigation handling. Associates and partners are always available for consultation.

We work with clients to explore all trial and settlement options. Our objective is simple--a closely coordinated, cost-effective, and winning defense.
